Our Wish List

As a charitable organisation, Whitecrow Village relies on the contributions of our dedicated volunteers and donors whose generosity and commitment ensure the continued and future success of our life changing programs.  If you identify with our unique vision and would like to share in our journey toward improving the lives of those who are affected by FASD, we ask that you please consider the many ways that you can help us to realise our dreams - from as little as part of the $950.00 it costs for one person to participate in our Live-In FASD Education (L.I.F.E.) Sessions to material donations or sharing of your time, skill, or professional expertise. Whatever your contribution, Whitecrow Village is grateful for your interest and welcomes your participation.

Help!  Whitecrow Village is Homeless!

Our core Live-In FASD Education Sessions began more than 12 years ago on a large piece of land in central British Columbia.  Although it was a beautiful site, its remote location posed many access and financial challenges for professionals and other program participants.  Since 2004, we have held the majority of our L.I.F.E. Sessions at the Cowichan Lake Outdoor Education Centre (C.L.E.C.) on central Vancouver Island.  This site provides timely access from nearby airports, and is easily accessible for Vancouver Island families.  Whitecrow Village participants and supporters have travelled here from throughout British Columbia and other parts of Canada and the United States, and some even from as far away as Ireland.  Unfortunately, at present, the C.L.E.C. is only available to us for a few weeks in the summer months.  Since travel remains too expensive for many families, we have continued to take our programs into communities throughout British Columbia so that members of local communities can still attend together.  However, the constant set up and take down of our mobile programs poses difficulties for us not only in terms of travel expense, but also in terms of the energy and focus of our team – it is especially exhausting for those of our crew who have disabilities.  To find a solution to these challenges, the Friends of Whitecrow Village Society and the Whitecrow Village staff are actively seeking (via lease or purchase) a home base.  Specifically, we are looking for a large piece of property (80+ acres) on central Vancouver Island from which to operate our year around programs.
